On Saturday we made the short trip along the road to face rivals Carnoustie. We knew it was going to be tough as Carnoustie were the only team this season to prevent us getting a try bonus point. We started really well and I made the decision to turn down 3 easy points and opt for the scrum which turned out to be a good move as Chris scored a lovely well worked try off of the back of the scrum. Ethan scored another try from close range but we were unable to score more with handling errors being our down fall. Ethan kicked a penalty on half time for us to take a 13-0 lead into the break, looking very comfortable.

We added another 3 points shortly after half time and then we let Carnoustie back into game from our poor discipline. Down to 13 men Carnoustie were able to take advantage of this and find themselves 1 point ahead with 5 mins to go. This is when we had to show our character and thankfully we delivered. In the last play we kept the ball and eventually got it through the hands out wide to Joe Abbott who dived down in the corner to secure the win. Great result but we should have had the game out of sight in first half when we were on top but credit to Carnoustie for giving us a great battle. Great feeling to win it at the death and great night was had by the boys with a pub crawl in Carnoustie before heading back to ferry, what rugby is all about. Big game this week against Dundee and some serious work will be going into training to make sure we deliver the win. Big support needed at Forthill which is sure to be a great day.
